Onze Vlag Ltd, established on may 5th 1945, by Leendert Alfred Liesdek, liberation-day of the Netherlands, hence the name Onze Vlag ( Our Flag ); Suriname back then was part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Started as a small one-man-company with as main activity shoe-repair, custom-made and also semi-orthopedic shoes, the company gradually grew and not much later items like materials, tools, rubbers, leathers threads, adhesives where sold to other shoemakers.
